Jocelyn C. Olson - Vocal & Instrumental Instructor

Jocelyn is a Redding native, she recently returned to the North State after 13 years in Southern Oregon. She holds two Bachelors of Science degrees in Music Instruction and Music Business from Southern Oregon University. A Lyric Mezzo Soprano, she has performed roles as Aunt Spiker in James and the Giant Peach the musical with Shasta College, Rona Lisa Perelli in the 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee with Jimmy Giancarlo the Director of the Ashland Cabaret theater until 2014, Nichlas in Offenbach’s The Tales of Hoffmann, and Marcellina in Mozart’s Marriage of Figaro with NorthStar Opera, and has been in eleven additional musical and opera productions as supporting cast or crew with Shasta College, North Star Opera, and Cascade Theatre in Redding, California, and Connect the Dots, Camelot Theater, Southern Oregon University, and Rogue Opera throughout Southern Oregon. She has been the Assistant Director for three Opera productions with North Star Opera and Rogue Opera. She has stage managed and sound engineered a few hundred concerts and performances at the Southern Oregon University Recital Hall. She was a member of the Southern Oregon Repertory Singers for seven years. She interned with Britt Festivals and assisted with the development of their Jazz in the schools program. She is excited to be back in the North State and offering her skill set to further music education in the area. 

Jocelyn teaches Voice, Piano, Perrcussion, Violin, Viola, Cello, Flute, Clarinet, Saxophone, Trumpet, French Horn, Trombone and Music Theory.
